We all know that diamonds are among the toughest, most exceptional natural materials, equipped with a range of extreme physical properties that make them highly desirable. Its potential stretches far beyond its use in jewelry, however. It also holds great potential as an electronic material.

Not only is diamond hard, it's also very brittle. But the new study shows that on the very small scale, when diamond is in nano-needle form, the material can be bent and stretched by as much as 9 percent. That's way above the standard 1 percent flexibility of the substance in bulk form.

However, when single crystalline diamond is in the form of micro/nanoscale wires or needles (~100–300 nanometers in diameter, micrometers long), they can be elastically stretched by as much as 9-10 percent tensile strain without failure, with a maximum local tensile stress of ∼89 to 98 GPa, very close to the theoretical limit for this material.

Answer: Although diamonds originate deep underground and form under extreme temperatures, diamonds can indeed burn under certain conditions. Diamonds Burn Like Anything Carbon. As pure crystalline carbon (C), diamonds have the exact same chemistry as graphite (though they have different molecular structures). If strongly heated in the presence of oxygen (air), carbon will react with the oxygen ...

This allows the 3 billion base pairs in each cell to fit into a space just 6 microns across. If you stretched the DNA in one cell all the way out, it would be about 2m long and all the DNA in all your cells put together would be about twice the diameter of the Solar System. Bring your legs up at a 90-degree angle so that they are perpendicular to the floor. Your hips and legs can rest against the wall. Your arms should be stretched out at the shoulders. Draw your toes down toward you, keeping your legs straight. Try to push your toes back down toward your body. As you do this, you should start to feel the stretch.

Here is How to Tell if a Diamond is Real or Fake 1) Water Test. Use this simple test to ensure a diamond is real. Find a normal sized drinking glass and fill it ¾ of the way with water. Carefully drop the loose stone into the glass. If the gemstone sinks, it’s a real diamond.
🔰
For the fog test, hold the diamond or ring between two fingers and breath on it with a puff of air. A light fog will form on the diamond because of the moisture and heat in your breath. If the fog dissipates right away, the diamond is real. If it takes several seconds for the fog to disperse, it is likely a fake diamond.
