The path is steep, so wear sneakers or hiking boots. After a considerable hike, you will pass through a tunnel. You will then climb exactly 99 stairs. The stairs are real stairs as opposed to dirt or lava. You will then pass through a second tunnel. After a few more steps, you are at the lower level of the top of Diamond Head.

After you pay the entrance fee, you start your journey up Diamond Head. The total walk is about 0.75 miles and all uphill. There are places to rest along the way, so don’t feel like you have to do it all without a break. The majority of the walk is pretty steep, and there are sections of stairs (almost 200 steps in total).

It costs $5 for a single-entry vehicle ticket to the parking lot (or $1 to walk in). One of the best times to climb Diamond Head is for sunrise, when temperatures are still relatively cool and the sun shines from behind your back on the crescent of Waikiki Beach far below.

Diamond Head is one of the most popular hikes in Hawaii — and for a good reason. It’s one of the best ways to get breathtaking, 360-degree views of Oahu. Looking down, you can see the crater that was made 300,000 years ago from a single volcanic eruption. Looking out as the coastline becomes […]

One of the things we want to do is the Diamond Head hike. From what I have read, I understand it is a .7 mile hike, one hour up, 30 - 45 minutes back. My fiancee's parents will be with us and we are a little concerned about whether this is a hike they can do. Mom is 67 years old and overweight but walks a few times a week.

Diamond Head opens at 6:00 am, and you want to get there as early as possible for a few reasons. First, the parking lot fills up quickly. Second, only a small part of the trail has shade. Hike early to beat the sun and the crowds. You have to pay to get in, and only cash is accepted

It takes about an hour to walk three miles through Waikiki before accessing the park entry. Driving to Diamond Head only takes about 10-15 minutes, which is essentially a straight shot down Monsarrat Avenue. You will pay $5 for parking and entry.

Tips For Hiking Diamond Head. Bring plenty of water, a few snacks and pack sunscreen. Dress in light, athletic clothing and be sure to wear closed toe shoes or trainers. You could probably manage in sandals but they’re not ideal! A hat may be handy if the sun is out. Don’t attempt the hike with small children!

Being an iconic symbol of Waikiki, a visit is not complete without a hike to the top of Diamond Head Crater. The dormant volcano crater has been a part of military history for decades and is now a state park. Get there early as parking within the park is very limited. We had to wait 30min or so for a spot to become available.

Here is How to Tell if a Diamond is Real or Fake 1) Water Test. Use this simple test to ensure a diamond is real. Find a normal sized drinking glass and fill it ¾ of the way with water. Carefully drop the loose stone into the glass. If the gemstone sinks, it’s a real diamond.
🔰
For the fog test, hold the diamond or ring between two fingers and breath on it with a puff of air. A light fog will form on the diamond because of the moisture and heat in your breath. If the fog dissipates right away, the diamond is real. If it takes several seconds for the fog to disperse, it is likely a fake diamond.
